The failure of members of the U.S. House to agree, vote with their constituents in mind, and problem-solve, which is their job, is causing immeasurable harm to all. Specifically, the laying-off of employees at the U.S. Department of Education who oversee special education services is deplorable.

The Department of Education’s main job is to ensure equitable educational access to all students, especially those with disabilities. These cuts and curriculum changes are causing intense harm to children, our most vulnerable population. People who will be dead well before these kids grow up are destroying their futures, and the future of America.
