A fire in Waterloo Thursday sent one person to the hospital, according to KWWL. Fire crews responded to a home on Belleview Road at around 8:30am. Two people were inside the home at the time. One of them was able to escape unharmed but the other was trapped inside. Firefighters were eventually able to get the second person out but they had to be taken to a hospital for further evaluation. Their condition is unknown at this time. Firefighters say neighbors likely saved the residents’ lives. The neighbors came over and knocked on the door, waking the residents who were asleep and unaware of the fire in their home. The names of those involved and the cause of the fire were not made public.
