One person was killed in a collision involving a convertible and a Metro bus in West Hollywood early Friday morning.

The crash was reported shortly after 1 a.m. near Santa Monica Boulevard and North Orange Grove Avenue, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Gonzalez confirmed.

Video from the scene showed the badly damaged yellow convertible had ended up sideways after colliding with the rear of the bus.

The unidentified driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

It was unclear if anyone aboard the bus was injured in the crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
