Agartala, 17 th October 2025: Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Inspector General (Designate), today assumed charge as the Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura Frontier, succeeding Shri A.K. Sharma, IG, who has been transferred to the Manipur Frontier.

A highly decorated officer, IG Chakraborty brings with him a wealth of operational and administrative experience spanning several decades. He is a recipient of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service, the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) Medal, and the Ati Utkrisht Sewa Padak.

During his distinguished career, he has served along the Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Pakistan borders, as well as the Line of Control (LC), and has played significant roles in Anti-Naxal operations. He has also been associate
