Five families are without homes after a two-alarm fire broke out early Friday morning at an apartment complex in Kent.
Puget Sound Fire responded to the fire in the 10600 block of Southeast 250th Place in Kent, the department posted on X at about 1:30 a.m. Friday. The department said there was “heavy fire” coming from the second and third floors of the building.
The glow of fire can be seen in several units in the Waterbrook Apartments in images shared by the fire department. Smoke billowed out while crews doused the flames with hoses.
Six units were burned in the fire and 15 people won’t be able to return home to their units, American Red Cross Northwest Region said on X.
Firefighters put out the blaze in about 90 minutes, the fire department said.
