An 18-year-old in New Hampshire is suing officials at his former high school, claiming they interrogated him and illegally searched his truck for a gun that wasn't there.
Jack Harrington filed the lawsuit in federal court Wednesday, alleging the Hillsboro-Deering district superintendent ordered the search without his or his parents' consent.
According to the lawsuit, the search took place in the high school parking lot in April after at least one student reported a bus conversation Harrington had with a classmate about a traffic stop off school property, during which he told an officer he had a gun in his glove compartment.
The lawsuit says Harrington is a lawful gun owner, that concealed carry in a private vehicle is legal in New Hampshire, and that he has never taken,
