It seemed fitting that Northlake Christian senior Charlie Gilmore was involved on the last play of the game.

As the Wolverines battled with District 9-2A rival Pope John Paul II at Lester Latino Field on Oct. 16, Northlake seemed to make every momentum-shifting play — Gilmore was a big part of those moments.

Whether it was an interception in the end zone by Jordan Willis or a key third-down conversion by Gilmore, the Wolverines pushed all the right buttons and forced three interceptions during a 14-0 victory.
