Suffolk County Police impounded a vehicle in for unlawful fleeing from a car meet that occurred on Thursday, October 16 in Melville. A Second Precinct Community Support Unit officer was on routine patrol when he observed a car meet-up taking place in a parking lot located at 68 South Service Road, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Upon entering the lot to conduct a further investigation, the officer observed a gray Honda Civic leaving the area. When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, the driver turned off the vehicle’s lights and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
