A group of history professors from Columbia University and Barnard College in New York have penned an open letter condemning the threats made to Rutgers University Professor Mark Bray, and are sounding the alarm about the threats to academic freedom in the United States.

Bray fled the United States for Spain after receiving multiple death threats and having his home address published as part of a targeted campaign by the Rutgers chapter of Turning Point USA, the organization founded and formerly run by podcaster Charlie Kirk. One email said Bray was going to be executed in front of his students.
