The cauldron is in place and now all the Oil Museum of Canada needs is a few more volunteers for this year’s Halloween family event happening Oct. 25.

Cackling Cauldrons runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum in Oil Springs with Halloween-themed crafts, including a witch hat ring-toss and bobbing for apples on a string, along with crafts and lots of candy.

“We expect to see 150 to, we hope, 200” visitors that day, said Christina Sydorko, education program coordinator with the museum.

“It’s an opportunity for parents of little ones” to attend a trick-or-treat event during the day and for “country kids who have to get in a car” to reach neighbours to put on their costume and walk from museum building to building to collect candy, she said.
