A former doctor at Ochsner Medical Center has pleaded guilty to hiding cameras in staff restrooms at the Old Jefferson hospital to secretly record employees, according to court records.

Andrew Matthews, 39, pleaded guilty to six counts of video voyeurism on Wednesday.

Judge Lee Faulkner of the 24th Judicial District Court sentenced Matthews to seven years in prison but suspended six years, court records said. Once released, Matthews must serve two years of active probation.

Faulkner also ordered Matthews to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, court records said.

Matthews was first arrested in August 2023, after an employee at the hospital, located in the 1500 block of Jefferson Highway, discovered a camera in a unisex staff bathroom, according to the Jefferson Paris
