Bradford Bulls, York Knights and Toulouse Olympique won the long-running battle to go into the enlarged Super League in 2026, with London Broncos the unlucky participant left alone at the altar.

Most had suspected Bradford would end their 11-year exile from the top flight, particularly when co-owner Nigel Wood rejoined the Rugby Football League (RFL) in a senior leadership role in March, and with the nightmare unfolding at Salford Red Devils.
