ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A downtown Albany coffee shop on State Street is celebrating spooky season with a candy-forward contest, and the winner gets a year of free bean juice. With a family-friendly way to celebrate Halloween, Motor Oil Coffee's Candy Count Contest starts on October 20.
Through October 31 at 2 p.m., visitors who stop by Motor Oil Coffee can get a look at the candy jar and leave their best guess of how many pieces are inside. The winner with the closest guess will receive one free medium drip coffee a day for an entire year.
Motor Oil Coffee opened on State Street in April 2023. The location was sold to former Motor Oil Coffee President Jermaine Carter in April 2025.
