IndiGo on Friday said it has converted 30 of its 70 purchase rights for Airbus A350-900 aircraft into firm orders, aiming to expand its presence in the long-haul international market.

With this move, the Gurugram -based airline has doubled its wide-body order from 30 to 60 Airbus A350-900 jets. The airline and Airbus had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the additional 30 aircraft at the IATA AGM in June 2025.

“The conversion of this MoU into a firm order for 30 additional A350-900s is a testament to our confidence in the future of Indian aviation and our strategic partnership with Airbus, further reinforced by the strong start of our long-haul operations,” said Pieter Elbers, CEO, IndiGo.
