INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man was charged after he was allegedly caught on camera with a gas can after a reported arson.

Michael Cromer, 45, was charged with Arson, a Level 4 felony.

The Indianapolis Fire Department was dispatched on July 22, at approximately 4:17 p.m. to the 1800 block of W Washington St. on a report of a residence fire.

Upon arrival to the scene, crews found fire coming from the back of the home.

A witness told police that they saw a man with a gas can who was screaming and moving erratically. The witness further said that his car has a dash camera that may have captured the crime. The car allegedly caught Cromer with a gas can in his hand.
