Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck (11) throws during the second half against the Florida State Seminoles at Doak S. Campbell Stadium.

Before a jam-packed Saturday during Week 8 of the 2025 college football season gets going on Oct. 18, fans of the sport across the country will have a nice little appetizer Friday.

The Oct. 17 schedule features four games, three of which feature opponents from Power Four conferences.

The quartet of matchups is headlined by No. 2 Miami hosting Louisville, with the Hurricanes looking to keep their dreams of an undefeated season alive against a Cardinals team that's receiving votes in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Elsewhere in the ACC, North Carolina will make the cross-country trip to Cal, hoping to get some good news during Bill Belichick's disastrous first season as the Tar Heels' coach.

In the Big Ten, Nebraska and coach Matt Rhule will aim to reach bowl eligibility for a second consecutive season when they travel to Minnesota, with the $5 Bits of Broken Chair Trophy on the line. It will be the first game for the Cornhuskers since Rhule's name has been heavily linked to the recently open head-coaching position at Penn State, Rhule's alma mater.

In the Mountain West, Utah State will host San Jose State. Here's a look at the full college football schedule for Oct. 17, including how to watch each game:
