The death of an infant at a home on Leafmore Road in West Rome on March 13 was ruled a homicide by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab, and a Cedartown teenager was arrested Thursday in connection with the case, reports state.

According to Floyd County Jail and Rome Police Department reports:

Trenton Daniel Rittenhouse, 18, is charged with felony malice murder, murder, and aggravated battery in the death of the infant.

Reports stated that the infant was shaken, which resulted in fatal internal hemorrhaging and a rib injury.

"Late Thursday night, officers with the Cedartown Police Department, Polk County Police Department, and the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Rome Police Department in locating and apprehending the suspect in Polk County," Rome Police Department P
