SALEM, Ore. - The Oregon Department of Forestry has officially ended all fire restrictions, signaling the close of the 2025 fire season.

ODF officials said that this year's aggressive firefighting efforts resulted in fewer acres burned compared to the previous year, despite an increase in fire starts.

"Through aggressive initial attack and the dedication of our firefighters, we had a season with significantly fewer acres burned compared to last year even with more fire starts," said Kyle Williams, ODF Deputy Director of Fire Operations.

The department reported 1,135 fires on ODF-protected lands, burning 24,275 acres in total. Statewide, there were 2,965 fires that scorched 338,740 acres.
