WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A case against a man accused of raping a woman at Wichita State University took a step forward on Friday.
At Mohamed Barkat Mia's preliminary hearing, a Sedgwick County judge ruled that there was enough evidence to try him in the case.
Mia is charged with rape and two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy.
Court documents allege that he sexually assaulted a 43-year-old woman last November in a lab at WSU, where he was a student and graduate assistant.
The judge set Mia's arraignment for Nov. 14.
