The Cleveland Guardians resigned Austin Hedges to a one year Major League Contract.

Cleveland has claimed AL Central Division titles in each of Austin’s last three seasons with the club (2022, 2024-25).

Last season, Hedges finished third on the club in Defensive Runs Saved (9), tied for 4th among all American League backstops, over 67 games/54 starts behind the dish.

His 95 DRS since the 2017 season are the most in Major League Baseball over the span among catchers. He was also credited with +11 Catcher Framing Runs * (T3rd-most in MLB) as his +33 Catcher Framing Runs since 2023 rank 3rd among MLB catchers.

Offensively, the 33-year-old San Juan Capistrano, CA native improved his 2025 OPS (.527) 104 points over his 2024 output (.423).
