COAL RUN, Ky. (WYMT) - The JC Penney in the Coal Run community of Pike County is re-opening.

It was in a shopping center that was destroyed during the February, 2025 flood.

Coal Run Mayor Andrew Scott released this statement:

“The City of Coal Run is pleased to announce the reopening of JC Penney, a long-time staple of our retail community. We have partnered with the JC Penney Management team to have interviews here in Coal Run, at our Community Center. The first, to take place Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, with more dates expected to be announced soon.
