The Kemper County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a DeKalb man following an investigation into allegations involving a minor, authorities announced Friday.
According to Sheriff James R. Moore, 32-year-old Terrance Rashaun Scarborough was taken into custody after investigators determined he engaged in sexual acts with his significant other’s 11-year-old daughter.
Scarborough has been charged with two counts of sexual battery of a child under the age of 14, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. His bond was set at $250,000 per count by the Kemper County Justice Court.
Because of the sensitive nature of the case, officials said limited details will be released to protect the identity and privacy of the victim.
