Niagara-on-the-Lake planning staff were stood up by residents during a late afternoon open house at Centennial Arena on the town’s draft official plan.
But Kirsten McCauley, the director of community and development services, wasn’t worried about the no-show. Planning staff expected people to attend a presentation on the draft official plan later in the evening. Also, McCauley said there was a good turnout of residents to the Oct. 15 open house the day before.
“They appreciated the opportunity to provide their input,” on the 405-page second draft of the official plan, she said.
The first round of public engagement session on the document was held this spring in St. Davids and Old Town and attracted a fair number of people, she said.
