Even if you aren't one of the 13,500 runners competing in the Baltimore Running Festival on Saturday, you can still take it all in as a spectator.
The finish chute is stocked with bananas, chips and water and people are stopping by the Harborplace Light Street Pavilion to collect their packets and bib.
Packet, bib and T-shirt pickup is available until 7 p.m. Friday — the only day for runners to stop by.
"I'm getting ready to run the half marathon tomorrow," said Stephen McGovern, a runner.
After months of planning and training, runners are making their final preparations before race day.
For organizers of the Baltimore Running Festival and the more than 500 volunteers, it means setting up portable toilets, tents and bike racks.
The field of runners is around 12% greate
