On Friday at 4:41 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood statement in effect until 7 p.m. for Nassau County.

The weather service states to be ready for, "Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in the most vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline as total water levels approach minor coastal flood benchmarks."

"Some water on low-lying roads and parking lots immediately along the waterfront," comments the weather service. "Do not drive through flooded roadways."
