LAC LA BICHE, Alberta – The director of the Law Enforcement Training Centre in Lac La Biche has been charged with sexual assault involving a student. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced the charge against Christopher Clark, 42, following an investigation that began in June. The allegations were brought to the attention of the RCMP by a student in the training program. The alleged incident occurred in 2024 when the victim was undergoing training. After the allegations surfaced, Clark was removed from his position as director. Clark was arrested and released on conditions on October 7. He is scheduled to appear in court in Lac La Biche on November 17. RCMP officials believe there may be additional victims and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward. “This investigation was significant from a public interest perspective,” said RCMP Staff Sgt. James Morton. He emphasized the importance of conducting a thorough and unbiased investigation. The Law Enforcement Training Centre offers 12-week courses for bylaw enforcement and community peace officers, as well as professional development for current law enforcement personnel. The centre has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the situation.
