TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo has rescinded its job offer to Carrie Hartman, who left her position as Toledo City Council president for the university job.

It was not immediately clear why UToledo rescinded the offer. Hartman was set to become the university's director of government relations on Monday.

“The University of Toledo had extended a conditional offer of employment to Carrie Hartman. That offer has been rescinded. The University will decline further comment on a personnel matter," a university spokesperson told WTOL 11 in a statement Friday afternoon.

Hartman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
