An online fundraiser has been launched for the woman who was severely injured in a chain reaction crash at a train crossing in northeast Minneapolis.

Janise Luna was driving a Cadillac Escalade when she was rear-ended by the driver of a Toyota RAV4, pushing both vehicles into a passing train around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at the crossing on Central Avenue Northeast.

Police believe the 32-year-old Fridley man who caused the crash was impaired and traveling almost 70 mph, though no charges have yet been filed.

The man sustained life-threatening injuries, while Luna is expected to recover. Both drivers were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

Luna suffered a broken pelvis, fractures spine and head trauma, according to a GoFundMe campaign, whose goal is $20,000.
