The City of Kenai officially accepted the donation of a new pavilion at the Kenai Sports Complex during Wednesday’s City Council meeting, thanks to the efforts of the Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club (KPSC). Valued at approximately $55,000, the donation was approved following a recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Commission earlier this month.

KPSC secured funding for the project and is covering all construction costs.

“It’s projected to be a 24 by 24 timber constructed with a monolithic slab,” said Jennifer Wardas, Technical Director & President of KPSC.

The pavilion is expected to be completed ahead of the upcoming soccer season and will serve as a shared amenity for various users of the Sports Complex.
