TOLEDO, Ohio — The Libbey Glass strike has stretched into its eighth week, and the financial burden is beginning to take its toll.

While hundreds remain on the picket line fighting for what they call a fair contract, some employees have decided they can no longer afford to stay out.

In a WTOL 11 exclusive, one worker, who asked to remain anonymous, said the lack of strike pay was the breaking point.

“It’s a money issue, and the longer you’re out, the more you do not want to go back,” the employee said. “A lot of people do live paycheck to paycheck, or they don’t want to dip into their savings because it goes quick.”
