The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is looking for an arsonist who set as many as eight fires overnight in about an hour’s time.
The fires started just after 12 a.m. Friday near 22nd Avenue S. and S. Hill Street in Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood. Investigators said fires were started in a home, a car, dumpsters, and on the sidewalk. The suspect was described as someone wearing dark clothing, according to SPD.
“The arsonist started setting fires around 22nd Ave S. and S. Hill Street, and then started to move southbound, setting fires,” SPD Detective Brian Pritchard told KIRO Newsradio.
The fires ended near S. Walden Street and Wetmore Avenue S. At least one home was targeted, but no injuries have been reported.
