APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV)- A local veteran found a unique way to turn his and his wife's love for animals into a business that helps the environment.
At Van Acre's Homestead, goats have a job to do, and they take it seriously.
“We put up solar fencing and then take care of vegetation management, they will come out and eat all of the foliage and leave all the sticks and stuff behind,” said Jason Van, owner of the business.
It started as a few pets but quickly turned into a vegetation management business. “We started it on our property, and we found out it did great things, and it worked out…People asked about it, and we started it,” said Van.
