A day of almost perfectly clear sky comes to the capital

For hours on Friday the sky in Washington seemed perfectly blue, but finally a few small clouds showed up. Those clouds may even have provided a kind of relief, allaying apprehension sometimes prompted by the presence of the perfect.

For much if not all of Friday, the weather, in its splendor, did seem to live up to whatever high expectations may be created by October and autumn, often regarded as the time of Washington’s best weather.
