AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Western Carolina State Fair enters its final weekend while the Georgia Carolina State Fair opens Friday at the Augusta Fairgrounds.
The Western Carolina State Fair offers food sampling from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, but rides will not be available during those hours. Gates open at 5 p.m. today with tickets costing $10. Children under 5 get free admission.
The fair will close 30 minutes later tonight and tomorrow night at 9:30 p.m. Gates will open at noon tomorrow and Saturday.
Half-price gate admission is available for fire, EMS, police, medical professionals, military and senior citizens.
Meanwhile, the Georgia Carolina State Fair at the Augusta Fairgrounds on Hale Street starts today and runs until Oct. 26.
