BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Bismarck parents with pre-school-aged children now have a fun, free way to try ice skating together.

The Preschool Hockey Program offered by Bismarck Parks and Recreation provides an opportunity for young kids to try skating in a safe, low-pressure environment during the winter months.

The program is exclusively for parents with children under five, and balance aids will be available.

“It’s a good way for us to utilize what would be otherwise unused ice time a lot of the weekdays and provide that opportunity for a lot of the families to stay active and try out skating,” said Dylan Thiem, facilities manager at Bismarck Parks & Recreation.

The program will run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday during lunch hours at the Capital Ice Complex beginning on Oct. 20.
