Craft spirits producers are celebrating a new California law that will make it easier to ship alcohol direct-to-consumer.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the law, Assembly Bill 1246, earlier this month.
The big picture:AB 1246 was authored by Asm. Josh Hoover (R–Folsom) and extends direct-to-consumer shipping for in-state distillers by one year. • It also expands shipping privileges to out-of-state distillers who obtain a permit through next year. • Further, AB 1246 permanently increases the daily sales limit from 2.25 liters per person to 4.5 liters per person.
