ROME, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - For the second consecutive week, a Metro Atlanta air show will take place without the nation’s biggest aerial attraction.

The Wings Over North Georgia Air Show will proceed this weekend without the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, who remain sidelined due to the ongoing government shutdown.

“It’s disappointing, but it’s not the end of the world for me,” said organizer John Cowman.

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds pulled out of an Atlanta air show last week.

If Cowman and his team are discouraged, they didn’t show it. Cowman and his organizers at Russell Regional Airport emphasized a diverse lineup of aerial performances.

“We build an airshow. We don’t build a Blue Angels show,” he said.
