A horror fortnight of crime in Melbourne has sparked concerns about the city's safety, with a senior Liberal warning it could drive people away from the Victorian capital.
On Friday, Australians only learnt about a frightening stabbing in broad daylight in the CBD, despite the fact it happened two weeks earlier, on October 2.
The release of the CCTV footage of 36-year-old Wan-Ting Lai being stabbed in a random attack while on her way to work shocked the state and the country.
The alleged attacker, a 32-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with intentionally cause injury (x2) and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
