PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona families that have children with disabilities are celebrating a big win.

Policy changes they said would have caused catastrophic cuts are now being rolled back.

A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes. Advocates have been meeting with the Governor’s Office and Attorney General’s Office for weeks to push back on the new changes and it seems their efforts worked.

“I’m so relieved. I’m so grateful,” said Maja Rodriguez.

Maja Rodriguez and her daughter GiGi are attached at the hip. They explore the world hand-in-hand and face unexpected challenges together.

“At the time we received the diagnosis, she was the first person in Arizona diagnosed with this syndrome,” said Rodriguez.
