TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Tucson Meet Yourself kicked off Friday, and it’s been more than 50 years since the start of the beloved Tucson tradition.
There are nearly 50 vendors this year, with it being the first time for 11 of those vendors.
It’s the first time for Anthony Ingram and Kareem Hopkins, partner chefs at On the Fly Kitchen .
They said they’re cooking up food that Tucson doesn’t see a whole lot of.
“Tucson is kind of lacking soul food,” Ingram said. “So, it’s kind of a lane that we can hog to ourselves, and we want to just give everyone a taste of what we grew up on.”
Over the past four years, Ingram and Hopkins have been serving Tucson their soul food, which includes wings, okra, and their famous catfish.
