WASHINGTON (KPTV) - Oregon’s congressional delegation is pressing the Trump administration for answers after weeks of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) helicopters flying over Portland, which residents say has disrupted their lives and shaken homes.
Rep. Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), led the inquiry alongside Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley, and Rep. Maxine Dexter (D-OR). The lawmakers sent a letter Friday to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem demanding an explanation for the aircraft activity, which has persisted daily since Sept. 27.
According to the lawmakers, the Port of Portland received more than 40 helicopter noise complaints on Sept. 27 and 28, which is more than four times the number logged during the same period last year. The City of Portland has also reported a sharp increase in air
