HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. (WNCN) — A Wake County man claimed the grand prize in a Mega Millions Second Chance drawing last week, lottery officials said.

Yemane Abreha of Holly Springs won $100,000 among the 638,541 entries in the second of two second-chance drawings on Oct. 8, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.

According to NC Lottery, Abreha was in such disbelief, he had to call to confirm his win.

"I was like, 'Is this real?'," Abreha said in a statement. "It was a really happy moment."

Abreha visited lottery headquarters on Friday to collect his prize. He received $71,750 after required state and federal tax withholdings, according to NC Lottery.
