The video scoreboard inside Scotiabank Arena on Friday night featured live coverage of Game 5 of the ALCS pitting the Blue Jays versus the host Seattle Mariners.

The sparse crowd was predictably more fixated on the baseball game than the pending hoops matchup featuring the host Raptors and Brooklyn Nets.

This was the sixth and final pre-season game for the Raptors, who will officially tip off the post Masai Ujiri era next week when the franchise begins its 31st season in the NBA.

For Brandon Ingram, it will be his inaugural season with the Raptors.

While most exhibition finales carry very little to no meaning, Friday had a different flavour that at least added some spice to the occasion.

It was, after all, Ingram’s first game with the Raptors in Toronto.
