Brandon Bennett stood on the concrete just a few yards away from the turf at Aliquippa’s Heinz Field, still in his clacking cleats and still looking a bit out of breath.

Before he strolled away from the field — walking near all the Quips’ championship banners — Bennett posed a question.

“Mom, are we going to Sheetz?” he asked.

Montour’s star sophomore quarterback certainly deserved a treat. After trailing 7-0 at halftime, Bennett scored three touchdowns to help lead the Spartans (6-3, 3-1) to a 34-20 win against the Quips (5-3, 2-2) in a Class 4A Parkway Conference matchup that could prove decisive for playoff implications.
