NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Weeks away from the state's promise to bring free, universal child care to New Mexico families, some providers are asking the state to pump the brakes. Last week, dozens filled an auditorium and 500 people joined virtually for a public comment hearing on the state's plan to bring universal child care on November 1, 2025. Additionally, 127 written comments were submitted.
