CERRITOS — Thanks to the rushing duo of seniors Diego Cerritos and Daron Walker, Norwalk (8-0, 3-0) remains unbeaten and claims the top spot in the Mid Cities League.

Norwalk football’s rushing attack overpowered Gahr Friday night in a 27-13 win.

Cerritos and Walker rushed for a combined 213 yards and three touchdowns.

“It felt good, at the start of the game we were kind of rough, but glad our offense got it together,” said Cerritos.

Gahr (4-4,2-1) opened with a one-yard touchdown run by running back Jaidyn Backus to take a 7-0 lead. Norwalk then scored 21 unanswered points in the first half.

Even with the help of the Cerritos and Walker rushing attack – a combined 90 rushing yards in the first half alone– it was Norwalk’s passing game that put points on the board.
