SRINAGAR : The Executive Magistrate 1st Class Ajas area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district imposed a complete ban on the sale, storage, and offering of tobacco products within a 100-meter radius of all educational institutions under his jurisdiction. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

The order has been issued under the provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply, and Distribution) Act, 2003 (COTPA).

The magistrate’s order stated that the prohibition aims to safeguard the health and well-being of students and to discourage the initiation of tobacco use among the youth. The order came into effect immediately.
