COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M’s Men’s Cross Country won the Arturo Barrios Invitational for the first time since 2022.
Cooper Cawthra set an A&M Cross-Country record with a time of 22:58:6 for a fifth-place individual finish. Cawthra and teammates, Jack Johnston and Youssef Asslouj finished within the top-10.
A&M will compete in the SEC Championship on Friday, Oct. 31.
“This is a group that I thought coming into the year would be pretty good, but I didn’t know how good they would be, they’ve really developed well as a team” said Cross Country assistant coach Wendel McRaven. “And I think we’re going to just keep getting better because we got a couple guys that are just getting the first few races under their belt who maybe missed a little time in the summer with injuries.”
