BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- An 18-year-old man was arrested Friday morning in eastern Kern County in connection to a sexual assault investigation, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

On Oct. 17 at around 11:30 a.m., deputies from the Ridgecrest Substation worked with investigators from the Kern County District Attorney’s Office to serve a search warrant in the 5200 block of Nolina Avenue, according to sheriff’s officials.

The operation was meant to arrest Elijah Cox, 18, who was wanted in connection to multiple felony charges related to a sexual assault investigation, KCSO said.

The residence was in “extremely poor condition” and deemed uninhabitable, according to officials. Two minors were removed from the home.
