WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are investigating a murder-suicide at a home on West Side Drive.

Winchester Police Chief Travis Thompson says 38-year-old Tyler Snowden climbed into the window of 35-year-old Ava Brantley’s home and shot her in the head. Snowden shot himself afterward.

Police say it happened around 5 a.m. Friday, but the call didn’t come in until 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Chief Thompson says Brantley lived in the home with her children, who were not there at the time of the shooting.

Police say Snowden didn’t live at the home, and Brantley had a domestic violence order put in place on Thursday.

Brantley and Snowden’s bodies have been taken to Frankfort for an autopsy by the state medical examiner.

This investigation is ongoing.
